“Our people are to be celebrated because Black history is American history. No one should doubt that. And you know, in order for us to really come together, it's to celebrate everybody, and that's what today is all about, to celebrate our culture, our contributions, and we do it by recognizing local individuals who are giving back to this very community. Thank you to every one of you who helped make this event such a success. Whether you contributed your time, energy, creativity, or support behind the scenes, this event would not have been possible without you.
