2024 Shoutfest Unityfest Headliner Alert
Umoja Village is pleased to announce Gospel Singer and Pastor Wess Morgan as our 2024 Shoutfest Unityfest Headliner.
Wess Morgan is becoming increasingly popular for his ability to sing soulful melodies over lyrics that yield life building messages along with his unique ability to share God’s word alongside his personal testimony. Wess Morgan began traveling and singing gospel music at a young age along side his parents, Pastors Joesph & Yolanda Morgan and siblings Joey and Delana. By the time Wess was 10yrs of age, his life took a turn for what appeared to be devastation with no point of return. Wess began using drugs and drinking alcohol, which quickly turned to him abusing both substances. The abuse took several turns including repeated jail sentences along with time spent in recovery centers away from home, family and friends.
Although many had given up on Wess, his family and close friends held on to their faith in God that Wess would be delivered from a grim life filled with so many uncertainties. Wess would eventually recover and thereby embrace the mission to become an agent of change in the lives of people in need of transformation before and after drug and alcohol abuse. To accompany this mission, the vision of Wess Morgan was birthed, and in November 2007, Wess Morgan released his debut CD title “Look at Me Now” under his newly formed label Bowtie World Music. The contemporary Gospel music CD serves as a testament to the experience of transformation in Wess Morgan's life. Once “Look at Me Now” was commercially released, the Christian based media industry began publicizing Wess Morgan's remarkable success story via TV, radio and print media. Wess began giving interviews and performing songs from his debut CD project before audiences across the world. Such appearances have included Gospel music recording artists and Christian personalities such as Paula White, Carmen, Pastor Rod Parsley, the late Bishop G.E. Patterson, Dr. Bobby Jones, The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, Walter Hawkins, Fred Hammond, Kim Burrell, The Crabb Family, Daryl Coley, and many others.
Today, Wess Morgan is the founder and director of the Wess Morgan Foundation, an organization whose focus is drug and alcohol prevention and recovery. The foundation has plans in development for working with churches, government programs, civic and community centers stateside and abroad in an effort to steer youth away from drugs and alcohol use, and guiding them towards participating in humanitarian based initiatives poised to enrich their personal lives, neighborhoods and communities. The foundation is currently focused on helping youth in urban communities within Hendersonville and Gallatin Tennessee on an ongoing basis through faith-based and educational programs.
