Umoja Village Founders Day/Juneteenth Celebration at Eudora Farms Wildlife Safari

Aiken County-based 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Umoja Village, will celebrate its fourth year with a combination Founders Day and Juneteenth celebration on Wednesday, June 19th, from 10 AM-2 PM, at Eudora Farms Wildlife Safari Park in Salley, South Carolina.  Eudora Farms is the first drive-thru safari in South Carolina featuring over 300 exotic animals, a petting zoo, and a parakeet adventure park.  For this specific celebration, activities for the entire family are planned by Umoja Village to also include remarks by Salley Mayor Honorable LaDonna Hall, African-style drummers and dancers, educational and history presentations, line dancing, and more.

Eudora Farms owner Mr. Mark Nisbet has pledged to donate to Umoja Village a portion of all admissions collected that Wednesday, June 19th through Saturday, June 22nd.  Everyone is encouraged to have fun, learn, and experience nature like never before while helping to benefit one of this area's social care organizations committed to the well-being of the local community.  To learn more about Eudora Farms, its admission fees, and park attractions, please visit www.eudorafarms.net

Umoja Village CEO/Cofounder Donna Moore Wesby says, "It was divinely orchestrated that 155 years after over 250,000 enslaved people of African descent were informed that slavery had ended by executive decree, Umoja Village would be founded -- an organization that is committed to improving the lives of the underserved, underrepresented, and marginalized through the spirit of Umoja, which means unity.  It is most appropriate that this country be reminded that freedom is not free as we acknowledge this momentous day in American history.  It is our duty as Americans to do our part to make this country a more perfect union.  Umoja Village strives each day to help cultivate a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community."

Umoja Village is a resource management and advocacy organization that primarily connects the underserved and underrepresented to the resources they need in order to cultivate a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.  Founded by Aiken couple Don and Donna Moore Wesby, Umoja Village also operates the Richard Johnson, Jr. Umoja Village Resource Center located at 831 Hayne Avenue, SW in Aiken, South Carolina.  To learn more about Umoja Village, visit www.umojavillage.com or call the center at 803-226-0150.
