UMOJA VILLAGE UPDATE, because YOU are Umoja Village!
UMOJA VILLAGE UPDATE-APRIL 28, 2022
1. On Tuesday, May 3rd, at the Barbershop & Books celebration, the scholars of Schofield Middle will have the opportunity to shop for a brand new book to take home for summer reading thanks to the grant application submitted by Mr. Arrington Weston. His grant received funding through the Umoja Village funding allocation. Also at the event, students can receive reduced price haircuts. The event will begin around 10:45AM in the Schofield Middle School courtyard.
2. Umoja Village website analytics are in. Since January 2022, the site has already been viewed over 8,000 times with significant visits to the Community Calendar and the Black/African American Business Directory. If you're not visiting the site weekly, using the calendar as a planning tool, or submitting your calendar events, you're missing out. Several empowerment workshops and seminars for youth and adults will take place this weekend. Very soon, I'll be uploading an Umoja Village Progress Report to communicate the work that has happened since our 2020 inception. Praise God!
3. Thanks to the Greater Faith Fellowship family and to those who attended service this past Sunday for Umoja Village Sunday. $550.00 was collected to donate to Umoja Village. In order to roll out even more of our mission, regular financial support from organizations, businesses, churches, and individuals would be greatly appreciated.
