12 Black Leaders to Know: Donna Moore Wesby
Donna Moore Wesby said if it weren’t for God, she wouldn’t be living out her purpose in serving the community.
“I truly believe the reason that God allowed me is to do exactly what I am doing at this very moment,” she said as tears fell down her face.
That sense of purpose has driven Wesby in her role as CEO and co-founder of Umoja Village, and it has helped her forge connections in her community.
She started Umoja Village with her husband Donald in June 2020. Its mission is to provide underserved populations with a host of services: communication, personal development, financial assistance, housing, education, legal consultations, entrepreneurship training, health care, community engagement and spiritual mentorship.
