UMOJA VILLAGE UPDATE, because YOU are UMOJA!

1. City of Refuge Youth Development Center presents a huge free Back To School Bash, today (7/20), 11AM-5PM, at the BEC Plex, 5955 Jefferson Davis Hwy., North Augusta.  Food, games, entertainment, hair cuts/styles for students, and more. Call Ms. Dominique, 706-691-7307.

2. Want to learn how to attain college scholarships?  Does your child need a reality check about life?  Education Matters offers two back-to-back workshops this Saturday, July 22nd, 9AM-noon, at Aiken Technical College during the SuccessTeam bookbag giveaway event.  To register for the free workshops, go to edmatt.com or show up.

 
 

3. Umoja Village has partnered with the Greater Augusta Black Chamber of Commerce and the Aiken County NAACP to present a business networking event on Thursday, July 27th, 6 p.m., at the Center For African American History, Art, and Culture, 120 York Street, NE in Aiken.  Umoja Village is paying the $20 registration for 20 South Carolina business owners or aspiring entrepreneurs while spots are available.  To obtain that offer, call 803-226-0150.  Otherwise, register at mygabc.org/gabcc-events/

4. The Umoja Village Resource Center is now open Tuesdays through Thursdays, 12-5 p.m. instead of closing at 4 p.m.
