UMOJA VILLAGE UPDATE, because YOU are UMOJA!

1. Two empowerment opportunities tomorrow (2/4): Healthy Heart, Healthy Life, 9-11AM, Aiken Intermediate School, sponsored by Aiken Links and Delta Sigma Theta Aiken Chapter.  And, the Martha Schofield Founder's Day Observance and Awards Program, 12-3PM, Friendship Baptist Church in Aiken.  Both events free.  All details listed on the Umoja Village Community Calendar, umojavillage.com/community-calendar

2. Applications are being accepted for the Schofield Scholarship for those eligible high school seniors in the 2023 graduating class and eligible students currently enrolled in college who graduated from an Aiken County high school.  Applications available in the guidance offices of all Aiken County high schools or call Atty. Kim Anderson Ray, 803-257-7322.  Graduation from an Aiken County high school is required.  Deadline is March 10th.

3. Attention youth and adults, for an opportunity to learn a skill that can keep meals on the table and bills paid, apply for the CSRA Electrical Joint Apprenticeship program through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).  Applications accepted now until Feb. 22nd.  For application and qualification details, visit http://www.ibew1579.org/apprenticeship.html
