UMOJA VILLAGE UPDATE, because YOU are UMOJA!

1. Four candidates are running for the District 8 Aiken County Council seat vacated by Hon. Willar Hightower: James Hankinson (Republican); PK Hightower (Democrat); Brian Parks (Democrat); Michael Rozovich (Republican). For this primary and general election, eligible voters can select whichever ballot desired whether you affiliate yourself with the candidate's party or not.  The primary is August 15th, and the General Election is Oct. 17th. Only those who reside in District 8 can vote in this special election.

2. Shoutfest will now be organized under Umoja Village by Donna Wesby who previously organized the last five Shoutfests.  Shoutfest will kick off our first Unity Weekend, Saturday, Oct. 21st, 11A-5P, Beverly D. Clyburn Generations Park in Aiken.  We need sponsors, vendors, and volunteers to help with parking. Men's Ministries, youth, and adult service groups, I need your help. Call Donna, 803-226-0150.
